COVID-19 Return2Play
North Valley Youth Soccer League/North Valley United
Return to Play Protocol
North Valley Youth Soccer League/North Valley United protocol is subject to change as guidelines set forth by the Santa Clara County CDC are updated. This protocol is current to the CDC guidelines and Santa Clara County guidelines for consideration for youth sports and specifically soccer, as of February 28th, 2021.
When there is a difference between the County and State guidelines, the stricter of the two guidelines and protocols is to be adhered too.

Practice Guidelines
All County and state guidelines regarding home isolation/quarantine and COVID19 protocols must be adhered to. Questions regarding these protocols should be directed to CompDirectors@nvysl.net
All players must complete a symptom check prior to being allowed to engage in practice/training.

Under CA State and SCC return to play protocols, practice sessions can consist of full contact play within a stable cohort (team) but when able, a physical distance of 6 feet or more should be used.
Definition of Cohort for this purpose – A cohort is a group of athletes, team of players, that is stable and not constantly changing.
NorCal and CalNorth teams/cohorts are NOT required to wear face coverings during practice sessions at all times except when entering or leaving the facilities and/or during breaks when social distancing can not be practiced. Social distancing guidelines should be adhered to as much as possible. All players are highly encouraged to wear a face covering during contact play when tolerable. Due to recent studies, North valley does not approve Gator face coverings (masks that are worn around the neck and can be pulled up frequently) to be considered an adequate form of protection and are not allowed unless a secondary face covering is worn beneath.
All teams will be required to have every player/coach participating sanitize their hands prior to, during breaks and after every training session/practice.
